How it works
Your travel dates, roughly how many hours you want a guide for, and anything specific — a shoot, a dietary need, a factory, a wheelchair, a nervous first trip. Two minutes.
You receive a written itinerary built around your actual dates and interests, with a fixed quote in US dollars. Change it as many times as you like. Still nothing to pay.
I collect you from the airport or your hotel. Payment happens after the tour has started, in cash or bKash, in the currency that suits you.

Before you trust me
You are about to hand a day of your life to a stranger on the internet, in a country you have never visited. Here is exactly how to make sure I am real before a single dollar moves.
I send a copy of my Bangladeshi national ID and passport with my first reply — before you commit to anything. You will know my full legal name, Mohiuddin Hajary Jony, and be able to check it.
A Police Clearance Certificate from the Bangladesh Police is available to any guest who asks for it, along with the certificate number so you can confirm it independently.
Fifteen minutes on WhatsApp or Google Meet, at a time that works in your timezone. See my face, hear my English, ask the awkward questions. Most guests book after that call.
No deposit for single-day bookings in Dhaka. Nothing leaves your account until I am standing in front of you and the day has begun — which means the risk sits with me, not you.
On request I will send your planned route, my ID and my live phone number to a family member or colleague of yours before we set off, and share my location with them during the day.
Everything agreed in email or WhatsApp, in US dollars, before you fly. If the price changes on the ground, you do not pay the difference.
Straight answers
For most visitors the real risks are not violent crime — they are overcharging, transport confusion, and being genuinely stuck when nobody around you speaks English. Dhaka is dense, loud and fast, and it rewards people who know it. Serious incidents involving foreign tourists are rare, but travelling with a local removes almost all of the day-to-day friction, and I plan routes around traffic, crowds and the hours when areas are quieter.
I will also tell you honestly when a plan is a bad idea — a protest route, a late night in the wrong area, a boat in the wrong weather. That is part of what you are paying for.
I track your flight number from the evening before, so a delay is my problem rather than yours. There is no charge for waiting and no penalty for a schedule that moves. If a cancellation wipes out a booked day entirely, you owe nothing.
After the tour has started, in person. Cash in US dollars, euros, pounds or Bangladeshi taka, or by bKash if you already have a local number. For multi-day trips outside Dhaka I ask for a deposit only to cover hotels and transport that have to be booked in your name in advance — and you get those booking confirmations directly.
No — Dhaka is where I am based and where most trips start, but I travel anywhere in Bangladesh with you: Srimangal’s tea gardens, the Sundarbans, Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram and the hill tracts, the archaeological sites in the north, the ship-breaking yards. For trips outside Dhaka my transport and accommodation are added at cost and shown on the quote.
Many of my guests are solo women, and the arrangement should be one you are comfortable with rather than one you tolerate. I am happy to work with a female co-guide for all or part of your trip, to share my ID and live location with someone at home, and to keep to public routes and daylight hours if you prefer. Tell me what would make you comfortable and that becomes the plan.
I cannot issue a visa, and anyone who tells you they can is worth avoiding. What I can do is give you accurate, current guidance on the visa-on-arrival process at Dhaka airport, tell you which supporting documents immigration officers are actually asking for, and provide a hotel booking or invitation letter where your application needs one.
Tell me during the first hour and we change the plan on the spot — that is the advantage of a private guide over a fixed package. If you would rather stop altogether, you pay only for the hours already used and we part on good terms.
